Couples Therapy in Jacksonville, FL
Most couples who call us are not in crisis. They are tired. The same argument keeps returning in slightly different clothes, one person has started keeping the peace by saying less, and neither of you can quite remember when the easy part ended.
Couples therapy at Challenges Conquered Counseling gives that conversation somewhere to go. We work with married couples, engaged couples, long-term partners, and couples who are honestly still deciding whether to stay together. Some arrive after infidelity or another breach of trust. Some are negotiating money, parenting, in-laws, or two very different ideas of what a week should look like. Others simply want to feel close again and are not sure how to get back there.
Sessions are not a courtroom, and your therapist is not there to name a winner. Early on the work is mostly about slowing the pattern down enough to see it: what actually happens in the first sixty seconds of a fight, what each of you is protecting, and what each of you is hearing that the other never said. From there you practice concrete things, like raising a hard subject without an opening argument, repairing after you get it wrong, and asking for what you want directly. Most sessions include both partners, and your therapist may occasionally meet with each of you alone to understand your side more fully.
You do not both have to be equally sure about this. One partner arriving skeptical is common, and it is workable.
Our Jacksonville office is at 10163 Fortune Pkwy G40 on the Southside, off Butler Boulevard, which is reachable whether you are coming from Baymeadows, Mandarin, Arlington, or the Beaches. We also offer telehealth throughout Florida, which helps when two schedules and a commute would otherwise make a weekly appointment impossible. Partners in different places can join the same session from separate screens.
We accept insurance and will review your coverage with you before the first appointment.
