Immigration Evaluations
Immigration cases can be stressful and deeply personal. A professional psychological evaluation can help document the emotional and psychological impact of your circumstances and provide important clinical information for your immigration case.
At Challenges Conquered Counseling, we provide comprehensive immigration psychological evaluations for individuals and families involved in immigration proceedings. Our evaluations are conducted with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and attention to the specific circumstances surrounding your case.
If any of the following sounds familiar, an immigration psychological evaluation may be appropriate for you:
- Your immigration attorney has recommended a psychological evaluation
- You are applying for an extreme or exceptional hardship waiver
- You are seeking asylum and need documentation of trauma or psychological distress
- You are pursuing a VAWA petition related to abuse by a spouse or family member
- You are applying for a U Visa or T Visa
- Separation, deportation, or immigration uncertainty is significantly affecting your emotional wellbeing
- You need an independent mental health evaluation to help document trauma, abuse, hardship, or other psychological factors relevant to your immigration case
HOW IMMIGRATION PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS WORK
Your evaluation includes an in-depth clinical interview exploring your personal history, family circumstances, mental health, trauma history, current symptoms, and the psychological impact of your immigration situation. Standardized psychological assessments may also be used when clinically appropriate.
Following the evaluation, your clinician prepares a comprehensive written psychological report describing relevant clinical findings and their relationship to the circumstances of your immigration case. With your authorization, the completed report can be provided directly to your immigration attorney.
We understand that discussing trauma, family separation, abuse, persecution, or other difficult experiences can be challenging. Our goal is to provide an evaluation process that is professional, respectful, culturally responsive, and supportive.
Evaluations may be available in person in Fort Lauderdale or virtually for eligible clients in Florida, when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable requirements.
