Marriage Counseling in Florida

There is a version of a marriage where nobody is fighting and nothing is technically wrong, and that is exactly the problem. You coordinate schedules, you split the errands, you are unfailingly polite. You are also, somewhere along the way, roommates. That is one of the most common reasons couples call Challenges Conquered Counseling, and it responds well to marriage counseling. We work with married couples across Florida, in Fort Lauderdale, in Jacksonville, and by secure video.

Marriage counseling here is structured. Early on your counselor gets the history: how you met, what worked, when it changed, and what each of you has been carrying quietly. Then you set goals together, and sessions have a job to do. Depending on what you bring in, that might be rebuilding trust after a betrayal, learning to fight without doing damage, getting aligned on money or parenting or in-laws, reconnecting physically and emotionally, or making a clear eyed decision about the future of the marriage rather than drifting into one.

Both of you will be asked to change something. That is the deal, and it is also why it works. One person cannot carry a marriage alone no matter how hard they try. Your counselor keeps the room fair, so neither of you spends the hour defending yourself.

Couples typically come weekly at the start, then less often as things steady. Some add a stretch of individual sessions alongside the joint ones when one partner has something of their own to work through.

You can meet at 800 E Cypress Creek Rd Suite 431 in Fort Lauderdale or 10163 Fortune Pkwy G40 in Jacksonville. Telehealth is available statewide, which solves the two most common scheduling problems: childcare, and one partner traveling for work.

We accept many major insurance plans. Coverage for marriage counseling varies, so call us and we will check your specific plan and tell you what to expect before you commit to anything.

If you have been telling yourself you will deal with it when things calm down, this is your reminder that things do not calm down on their own. Call Challenges Conquered Counseling at (954) 600-9403 and we will get you both on the schedule.
