Teen and Adolescent Therapy in Broward County
The teenage years are hard on purpose, but there is a difference between a rough stretch and a teen who is genuinely struggling. When grades slide, sleep falls apart, old friendships drop away, or your teen seems angry or flat most of the time, that is worth taking seriously. Challenges Conquered Counseling provides teen and adolescent therapy to families across Broward County.
We work with adolescents on anxiety, low mood and depression, anger, school and performance pressure, friendship and dating conflict, family stress, grief, self-esteem, and the effects of bullying or a traumatic experience. Some teens arrive willing to talk. Many arrive because a parent made them, arms crossed. Both starts are fine, and we have done this long enough to know the second group often ends up doing good work.
The relationship comes first. A teenager will not do anything useful with a therapist they do not trust, so early sessions are about being straight with them: what stays private, what we would have to share, and the fact that nobody is going to lecture them. Once that is established, the work gets concrete. Teens learn to recognize what their own anxiety or anger actually feels like before it peaks, what to do in the moment, how to set boundaries with friends and family, and how to think about the future without spiraling.
Parents stay informed at a level that respects the teen’s privacy. We will tell you how things are going, what would help at home, and if we ever have a safety concern, we will address it with you directly.
