Teen and Adolescent Therapy in Florida

The door closes more often. Answers get shorter. Grades slip, or they do not slip but everything else does. Parents of teenagers usually notice something is off long before they can name it, and by the time they call us they are worried they waited too long. They did not. Challenges Conquered Counseling works with teens and adolescents throughout Florida, in Fort Lauderdale, in Jacksonville, and by secure video.

Teenagers are a particular kind of client. Most of them did not schedule the appointment, and they walk in expecting to be lectured or reported on. Our therapists spend the first sessions earning the room instead, getting to know your teen as a person rather than as a list of problems, and being clear with them about what is private and what is not. Once a teen believes the space is actually theirs, the real conversation starts.

We see adolescents for anxiety and panic, low mood, self esteem, social pressure and bullying, school stress and burnout, family conflict, identity questions, grief, concerns around eating, self harm, and the aftermath of a frightening experience. The work draws on cognitive behavioral approaches, skills for handling intense emotion, and plain talking.

Parents stay in the loop on what matters, meaning safety, progress, and how to support what your teen is working on, while the day to day content of sessions stays between your teen and their therapist. Your therapist will explain exactly where that line sits at the start, so nobody is guessing. Some families also add sessions together when the conflict at home is the thing that needs the work.

Our Fort Lauderdale office is at 800 E Cypress Creek Rd Suite 431, and our Jacksonville office is at 10163 Fortune Pkwy G40. Telehealth reaches teens anywhere in Florida, and it fits teenage schedules well: after practice, before homework, without a parent having to leave work early to drive.

We accept many major insurance plans and will verify your benefits before the first appointment.

If your teenager is struggling and you are not sure what to do next, start with a phone call. Reach Challenges Conquered Counseling at (954) 600-9403 and we will help you figure out the right first step.
