Teen and Adolescent Therapy in Jacksonville, FL

Parents usually notice the change before anyone puts words to it. Grades slip. A kid who used to talk stops answering in more than one word. Friend groups shift, sleep goes sideways, or the bedroom door stays closed for most of the weekend. Sometimes the change is loud instead: anger that arrives out of nowhere, or a level of dread about school that no reassurance touches.

Challenges Conquered Counseling works with teens and adolescents across Jacksonville on anxiety, depression, self-esteem, social pressure and bullying, family conflict, divorce and blended-family transitions, grief, identity, academic stress, and trauma. We also see student athletes carrying performance pressure that has stopped being fun.

The first appointment usually includes the parent or guardian and the teen together for part of the time, then the teen on their own. That structure matters. Teenagers tend to open up once they understand that therapy belongs to them and is not a report being sent home. Your therapist will explain at the start what stays private and what has to be shared, particularly anything involving safety, so nobody is caught off guard later.

Parents are not shut out. You will know what the work is focused on and what would help at home, without a play-by-play of every session. When family patterns are part of the picture, your therapist may bring everyone into the room for some of it.

If your teen does not want to come, say so when you call. That is common, and there are ways to run a first appointment that make it far less adversarial.

We see Jacksonville families at 10163 Fortune Pkwy G40 on the Southside, off Butler Boulevard and easy to reach from Baymeadows, Mandarin, Arlington, and the Beaches. Telehealth is available anywhere in Florida, and it often fits better around practice, rehearsal, and a school schedule.

We accept insurance and will check your benefits before the first appointment.

Call (954) 600-9403 or request an appointment online, and we will match your teen with a therapist who works well with their age group.
